The Starter Violin Programme is a weekly group class for first-time beginners. There is no fixed start date — you join when you are ready and work at your own pace with an expert StringSchool teacher and a small group of fellow learners.
You do not need to own a violin. Studio instruments are available to borrow at every session, so you can start immediately and sort your own instrument in your own time.
Two ways to enrol
Intro Enrolment — £249
Up to 5 weekly 60-minute sessions. The right starting point if you want to build a proper foundation and see how you progress.
Full Enrolment — £449
Up to 12 weekly sessions, a guaranteed place on the Beginner Course waiting list, and an invitation to perform at the next StringSchool concert.
You can upgrade from Intro to Full Enrolment at any point — just pay the difference.
No violin? No problem
Studio violins are available to borrow at every session. You can start this week and sort your own instrument later — your teacher will guide you on what to look for when the time is right.
Repeat the Fundamentals class whenever you like
As a Starter Programme learner, you are welcome to attend the Introductory Violin Fundamentals Class as many times as you like. It is a great way to make sure the foundations are really solid before moving on.
Come back next week
Classes run every Saturday at 11am and every Thursday at 7pm in London, with Manchester classes at the same times. There is no waiting for a new term — you can join the next available session and keep going week to week (holidays excepted).
