Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need my own violin to start?
No. For your first Introductory Fundamentals class, you are very welcome to use one of our violins in the studio. If you decide to continue, we can help you choose an instrument after your first class.
Do I need to be able to read music?
No prior music reading is needed. The Introductory Fundamentals class is taught entirely by ear. If you go on to the Starter Course, we teach everyone how to read music step by step from the beginning.
How do I get my first violin?
If you would like help choosing an instrument, request our free PDF guide, "How to Get Started with the Violin". It covers what to buy or rent, what to avoid, and how to get set up. Contact the school and we will email you a copy.
What if I'm not sure the Starter Course is right for me?
Start with the Introductory Fundamentals class, or book a free 20-minute Learning Advisor call and we'll help you choose the best next step.
How much practice do I need?
We know most adults have busy lives, so practice is flexible. You do not need to practise every day. We show you exactly what to focus on if you only have a small amount of time, and you can move through the course at a pace that works for you.
