About this class
The Introductory Ensembles Class is a relaxed, one-off session for string players who are new to playing in a group. You’ll rehearse accessible ensemble pieces, learn how to follow a conductor, and experience what it feels like to make music together in a supportive setting.
Who is it for?
This class is designed for adult violin, viola and cello players who are comfortable reading basic music and playing at around Grade 2 level or above, or who have completed our Beginner / early Intermediate courses. No previous ensemble experience is required.
What to expect
- Guided rehearsals in a friendly, low-pressure environment
- Clear introduction to ensemble skills such as listening, balance and timing
- Practical tips on following a conductor and reading your part with confidence
- Plenty of time to ask questions and build confidence before joining a regular ensemble
How to join
The Introductory Ensembles Class is currently on pause and will be re-introduced as part of our updated 2026 programme. If you’d like to be notified when new dates are announced, please email support@stringschool.uk and ask to be added to the Introductory Ensembles waiting list.
